Rebalance body and mind with reflexology in Tonbridge, Kent

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY FOR RELAXATION AND WELLBEING.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Grounding Reflexology.

My name is Neve and I am a former Oncology & Palliative Care Nurse Specialist. I work from a couple of tranquil settings in and near Tonbridge, Kent, easily accessible from Tunbridge Wells, Penshurst, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.

Whilst dealing with my own breast cancer diagnosis in 2022, I received reflexology as a complementary therapy. This was a life-changing experience which ignited my desire to become a reflexologist. I trained at the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology in East Grinstead and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology for Wellbeing.

I’m a full member of the Association of Reflexologists and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. To maintain my membership of these organisations, I undertake continual professional development (CPD) - updating my knowledge and skills, thereby ensuring I’m a safe practitioner. I’m fully insured and hold a First Aid Certificate to maintain your safety. I bring my nursing skills and knowledge from nearly 30 years working within the NHS and hospice movement, as a solid basis for my reflexology practice.

SUPPORTING YOUR BODY’S NATURAL ABILITY TO HEAL AND RESTORE

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy based on reflexes or points on the feet and hands that correspond to organs, systems & structures within the entire body. It uses human therapeutic touch to identify imbalances in the person as a whole & works with the body’s innate healing efforts to rebalance their system.

HOW REFLEXOLOGY HELPS

Reflexology aims to induce a deep state of relaxation & counteracts the negative effects of stress on the body. Other benefits include better quality sleep & mood improvement. Reflexology does not diagnose disease nor attempt to treat or cure specific medical conditions. However, I’m more than confident to support people with conditions & illnesses - please just ask. Reflexology will support your physical & emotional wellbeing with the aim of achieving a sense of grounding.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to reflexology can be immediately or take longer to see benefits after 5-6 treatments. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.

What happens in a treatment?

The environment and atmosphere for treatment is one of calm & peace to facilitate full relaxation. After achieving a comfortable seated/reclined position for yourself, I’ll use my thumbs and fingers and possibly knuckles to apply pressure to the reflex points. You don’t need to do anything but relax and let go of any tension. I’ll be sure to wake you if you fall asleep and take it as a compliment, never an offence!

Does reflexology hurt?

Reflexology is way more than just a foot massage and although pressure is used & some areas or reflexes may be sensitive to the touch, it should never hurt. And don’t worry- with the right amount of pressure reflexology doesn’t tickle!

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get “feedback” from the reflexes, suggesting imbalances within the body. I’ll always discuss this with you at the end of the session. The role of the reflexologist is to facilitate release of tension & the body’s own abilities to self-regulate & heal to rebalance their system. This ultimately leads to greater general wellbeing & vitality.

Can I keep on having reflexology?

There is no time frame or limit to reflexology and after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly to help maintain their wellbeing & de-stress. Other clients may get back in touch if they experience symptoms & arrange treatments as and when they need them. It is very individual and there is no one way to treat clients. I’m very flexible and adaptable to each person's needs and desires.
